What If It's Not Even Broken?

Friday is finally here. How are you feeling?
Has the week filled you up or emptied you out?
Is the focus on where you're NOT well, or on what's working?
WHAT IF?
What if you didn’t need to become a better version of yourself? What if you weren’t a project to finish, a problem to solve, or a body that constantly needed fixing? What if underneath all the pressure, expectations, labels, and noise—you were already whole?
This message was inspired in part by a Tiny Buddha post that reminded me of something we often forget: we have always been complete—even when life, other people, or our own inner voice tells us otherwise.

Recently, I lost access to my social media accounts.
At first, it felt like I had lost more than a social media page. I had lost years of work, memories, proof of my growth, and a place where I had documented my life and tried to make sense of where I belonged in the world. But it also forced me to ask a harder question, AND put my feet on the ground to get out there, not just post about it. Who am I without all the evidence? Without the polished posts, the carefully created brand, or the version of myself I thought I needed other people to understand?
Maybe you’ve asked yourself something similar. Who are you when you aren’t being productive? Who are you when your body changes, your plans fall apart, or the role you’ve always played no longer fits?
Who are you when life strips away the things you used to prove your worth?

There is an entire wellness industry built around convincing us that something is wrong with us. There is always another habit to master, treatment to try, body to build, nervous system to regulate, or better version of ourselves waiting somewhere in the future. I believe in doing the work. I believe in accountability, support, movement, bodywork, rest, and learning how to care for ourselves differently. But healing is not about treating yourself like a problem.
It is about returning to yourself.
It is about listening to the body you already live in, making room for the parts you’ve pushed away, and receiving support without handing someone else the authority to define your wholeness.

SUPPORT DOESN’T MEAN YOU NEED TO BE SAVED
When you come to work with me, I’m not here to fix you.I’m here to listen.
To help create space in your body.
To support you in slowing down long enough to notice what you need.
To remind you that healing can involve movement, breath, honesty, rest, discomfort, laughter, boundaries—and sometimes simply not having to carry everything alone. This bodywork and awareness of self are not magic erasers. They are opportunities to reconnect with yourself and build a kind of wellness that actually fits your life.
Not a perfect life.Your real one.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH
Where have you been treating yourself like something that needs to be fixed? Your body?Your emotions? Your relationships? Your work? The pace of your healing? What might change if you approached that part of yourself with curiosity instead of judgment? You can still want change while honoring who you are today. You can grow without believing you are incomplete.

WALKING FOR MENTAL HEALTH
On Saturday, September 26, NAMIWalks New Orleans is bringing people together to support mental-health awareness, reduce stigma, and help individuals and families affected by mental illness. This matters because healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Community, honest conversations, accessible resources, and the willingness to show up for one another are part of wellness too. You can participate in the walk, make a donation, or simply share the information with someone who may need it.

I’m still figuring out what this next version of my work—and my online presence—will look like. It will probably be a little less polished, a little more personal, and much more honest. If that sounds like the kind of wellness conversation you need, you can find me here:CONNECT WITH ME ON INSTAGRAM
Thank you for being here and allowing me to be part of your healing, your growth, and your very human life. With love and grit,BrittanyMore than wellness. All of being human.
